Textbook: Programming Microsoft Visual Basic 2005: The Language; Francesco Balena, Microsoft Press
(Text is suggested, not required)

Course Description: This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop applications in Visual Basic.NET. The course focuses on user interfaces program structure, language syntax, and implementation skills. This course is intended for both the novice and experienced programmer.
Course Prerequisites: Basic computing skills. Experience using the Windows 2000/XP operating systems. Familiarity with basic programming and object-oriented design principles.
Course Objectives: At the conclusion of the course, the student will have attained the following skills and/or knowledge:
  • Visual Basic .Net language
  • Create Windows Forms applications using VB.Net
  • Create Class Libraries using VB.Net
  • Consume Web Services using VB.Net
